Sea and Spa

On the seaside they are three beautiful beaches about 7 km each longer, the Giannella, the famous Feniglia and the Osa beach. Farther, the Feniglia with her “Nature Reserve” is entirely practicable on foot or by bicycle. Instead, towards Talamone you will find the Kitesurfing beach with a spectacular interweaving of sails that will color the sky.

The Park of Maremma or Uccellina Park will charm you with its beaches Cala di Forno, Colle Lungo and the beach of Marina di Alberese also frequented by Naturists.

The beaches are all equipped with bathing establishments, bars and restaurants as well as long stretches of free beach. Many beaches are “pet friendly “

The Maremma by boat

If you want to know the Maremma by sea, you can rent rafts or boats to Porto of Talamone , Porto Ercole or Porto Santo Stefano.  

You can visit  also the  Giglio and  Giannutri island’s with a ferry crossing of 1 hour with departures from Santo Stefano or Talamone.

Spa of  Saturnia (40 minutes)

You have to go at the Spa Cascate del Mulino (free) or in the Hotel in Saturnia for hot bath in summer or  in winter.

Medieval Villages

Starting from Magliano in Tuscany a few miles you will meet the ruins of the Abbey of San Bruzo . Then continuing towards to Manciano, Montemerano, you will fund the hot spring the famous thermal bath of Saturnia. If you want to continue for the Città del Tufo you will be enchanted by the beauty of (Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano ). Returning to Scansano, famous for its wine   the “Morellino di Scansano” you will meet Pereta with its Tower that dominates the whole Maremma.

Towards the coast a few miles from Capalbio you can visit the Tarot Garden of the Franco-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle . Then in Ansedonia there are the remains of the Ancient city of Cosa.

Natural park  and Oasis WWF

Birdwatchers can visit the various Natural Reserves, the Oasis of Lake Burano between Ansedonia and Capalbio , the Oasis of the Lagoon of Orbetello and moving north to the Nature Reserve Diaccia Botrona .

Parco della Maremma extends from Principina Mare to Talamone, is a true oasis of unspoilt nature populated by wild boars, fallow deer, roe and Maremman cows and numerous species of native plants and various types of birds.

Inside of the park you can  visit a abbay of San Rabbano, hiking, biking, canoeing and carriage.

Trekking 

After a good breakfast you can think of making a nice walk, starting from the Inn of the Knights choosing between a walk of ½ hour, 1 hour or more on white roads that line the fields if you’re lucky you’ll meet deer, hare…. .

Bicycle

From the Locanda dei Cavalieri being the last house of the road there are several white roads that run along the fields that can be covered by bicycle suitable for cyclists of all levels.

Golf

For golf lovers you have a wide choice, the closest is definitely the Argentario Golf Club in Porto Ercole about 30 minutes by car, the Terme di Saturnia Golf Club in Saturnia and the Golf Club Toscana in Gavorrano near Grosseto about 50 minutes.

Kitesurf and Windsurf

Just 20 minutes the Talamone Bay is an internationally popular destination for lovers of this sport, the wind (usually rises around one) and ends late afternoon. The shallow seabed prevents the waves.

Diving

You can do several dives with various Diving Centers in the area starting from the Port of Talamone, Porto Santo Stefano.

Food and wine

The Maremma offers you a genuine cuisine made of sheep’s cheese, salami, wild boar and many wines. Even the oil is the master!

Magliano in Tuscany is famous for its restaurants with a purely Maremma cuisine, in addition in the summer there are festivals where you can taste local cuisine.

Many internationally renowned wineries can let you taste their wines.
